I have to admit that I was visiting this annual exhibition for the first time but it left a very good impression about all works which were showcased in Photography Gallery.

This year thematic was lied on social issues in Africa continenet. How are they approaching sexual orientation ,"urban" violent, migration and decline.
Totally easy and relaxed life is reflected in Nikolai Bakharev's (Russia) photos. Smiling people in the beach on a hot summer's day, intimate moments of character's "closed" and "prohibited" lifes in 1970s. This photographer looked through the key holle and shot not only what he saw but also the feel and mood of a particular moment.
Michael Subotzky & Patrick Waterhouse were nominated for The 54-building "Private City" in Johanesburg.
An impressive photographic installation which made the viewer solve the "puzzle" and find the missing parts of people's lifes.
For the first time I was visiting Pick Me Up Festival which was started in 2010 and hosts a live platform for Illustration minded artists, creative professionals, studios and galleries.
This 12 day event showcase artists and designers with new approach to trend, topic or issue in creative industries such as: editorial, publishing, advertising. Moreover it consisted not only of exhibition but also of workshops, talks and debates related with graphic art and creative industries. "Discussions explored not only current work and trends but also addressed issues facing graphic art communities in years to come." (https://www.somersethouse.org.uk/visual-arts/pick-me-up-2015)
I had an opportunity to went there for a one day and I was impressed of an interesting layout of all festival space, which took a place at Somerset House.
The exhibition of selected artists and illustrators (Hattie Newman, Sarah Maycock, Jennifer Argo, Sara Andreasson, Thomas Lamadieu...) on the ground floor and the shop on the other side.
Various collectives, galleries and studios were represented on the first floor or in uper galleries. Each room was converted into mini shops or studio spaces. I think I should mention some of them here (Best, Blink Art, La Tigre, Month Collective, Not Another Bill, Ohh Dear, Peckham Print Studio, Pocko, Risotto Studio, Sope Studio, Studio Fludd, Supergraph, Wanna Date..)
Particularly I would emphasize the Pick Me Up Platform where all talks were held. I was participating in Monday program events which included series of interesting topics and explorations.
